Ac trouble just trying to get a check list going before i go pulling parts and replacing. I heard VW always has some kind of weird things going on when it comes to a/c so here i am asking you wonderful people!

Look under dash. Dont know what vehicle you havee but on 05 Passat B5.5 you can reach the relay cluster through the fuse panel or removing lower panel under steering. Intermittent ac or dead ac usually bad relay. The solder on pins inside cracks and causes issues. If system is proper pressure but compressor clutch not engaging is usually relay or fuse. Check relaynumber online. They are cheap or if handy with electronics can sometimes be re soldered.
