Car sat for about 7-8 months, everything was fine when I parked it and prepped it for long-term storage.. Just went to start it yesterday, and the Oil Pressure light starts blinking on me.. Oil is full.

What could cause the Zero Oil Pressure problem? Its not the sensor, already checked that.. Could it be the oil pump? And why would a mechanical oil pump fail after sitting for 7 months?

Suggestions and Advice on the possible problem would be awesome, as well as an idea of whats involved to replace the oil pump if you think that is the issue..

Thanks!

Moved to mk3 forum if it is indeed a 1998.

If all your sensors are fine then its either the oil pump or the oil pickup is clogged.

I would start by just doing a oil change, get some new oil and oil filter in there. Your oil filter could be all crapped out from oil sitting in there for 7 months.
