Hi,

Couple months ago I had the "major" vacuum line replaced by the stealership and had the oil pan dropped, new screen, sludge cleaned out.

Just recently I got a P0171 code. Took in into my local shop, they checked all the hosing, cleaned the sensor connection for the MAF and reset the code.

Three weeks later I get the P0171 code and take it back. They recommended its probably the MAF. They replace the MAF.

This AM I get the CEL and its the P0171 again.

Any ideas?

Front O2 is telling you the engine is lean, may be caused by the new MAF actually running you lean (broken part) or O2 sensor may not be reading properly, fuel filter is clogged etc.

Check your fuel filter out and swap in a new sensor to verify.

Possible causes......vacuum leak

Vacuum leak at intake manifold gasket

Air leak at the intake hose from the air filter housing to the throttle body

Low fuel pressure

Low flow from one or more fuel injectors

Do you have a scanner with live data capabilities? If so, what do the fuel trims look like?

Thanks guys. Took it back to the shop, and they discovered another leaking vacuum line.

Get this: They took the new MAF out and gave me a refund on the work! Holy Cow!

The whole ordeal cost me $40 after refund.
