anyone in western Washington wanna help me with this prijekt.

I finaly started it after sitting for 3 years.
all it took was a new battery and some gas.
next thing I know, there's gas spraying all over the engine compartment(but at least it's running smooth, with no smoke)
so I replace almost all the fuel lines in the engine bay, now it idles at 3Krpm
I think I must have knocked off a vaccume line.

If you would knock off a vaccuum line don't you think you would see the loose hose? Also to check for it look for a most likely on the side closest to the your firewall for it and try to put your finger on top of the nozzle that has no hose on it and listen for variance in engine sound and rpm.

Did you replace sparkplugs? (I assume you did LOL) sometimes the fuel will spray through the sparkplug if it had rusted through.

Another good idea would be to scan your ECU it might not trigger your ECL but still report a problem. Keep us posted.

well I can't find the vaccume line that's not connected.

its not that obvious.

the car dosn't really have an "ECU", it has a computer box. I am pretty sure there's no scanning. (its a 73)

no, I didnot replace the sparkplugs, I did look at them.

I'd come help... except two things:

1. I live just far enough away to be too far away to drive there.

2. I don't know shit about aircooled VWs (close enough). I had a Squareback before I had my license... I learned to steer clear.
