Found a new problem driving home yesterday (in the rain). I was driving along and all of a sudden the tach drops to 0 and the battery light comes on. I pulled over and popped the hood but by that time it had gone back to normal. So about 5 miles later it did it again, but I just kept driving (I was almost home) and before it came back up I heard a belt squeeling. I figure that the alternator belt is slipping, but it is good and tight. Is it possible that the alternator is seizing up...or should I just make a better sheild so water can't get at it?
