Hi,

Have a very small oil (synthetic Castrol 5W40) leak in a Jetta Wagon, 1.8T. Any suggestions for an additive that would plug things up?

Thanks,
Andor

Not sure, probably the oil pan - it was pulled last year (sludging) and I'm guessing the seal wasn't placed in properly.

I wouldn't add an additive personally. I would just find the source and fix it from there. If it's the plug itself, you can buy rubber washers instead of tapping the threads again. I'll let someone else chime in on additives.

Would you put a band-aid on a broken arm?...No. Fix it right. Also it might not be the pan. Could be the cam half moon gaskets or even the valve cover gasket. Find the leak. Fix the leak.
