that guy isnt mad at VW's he's mad at the dealers... have you heard of the lemon law?? Here in MD we have a law that if anything goes wrong with your car within the first couple days of purchase you can take it back and if you dont want another car from that same dealer they pretty much rip up your contract so you dont get stuck paying for a "Lemon".......

That sucks. Talking from first line of experience, car dealers are freaking 90% assholes. There are some good ones, if you got a good one, hang on to that dealer.

Yes, I know about the lemon law..This is what I found about the law.

The same nonconformity has been subject to repair four or more times by the manufacturer or its agents or authorized dealers during the period of two years following the date of original delivery of the motor vehicle to a consumer or during the period of the first eighteen thousand miles of operation, whichever period ends first, but such nonconformity continues to exist or
the vehicle is out of service by reason of repair for a cumulative total of thirty or more calendar days during the applicable period, determined pursuant to subdivision (1) of this subsection. Such two-year period and such thirty-day period shall be extended by any period of time during which repair services are not available to the consumer because of a war, invasion, strike or fire, flood or other natural disaster. No claim shall be made under this section unless at least one attempt to repair a nonconformity has been made by the manufacturer or its agent or an authorized dealer or unless such manufacturer, its agent or an authorized dealer has refused to attempt to repair such nonconformity.

Just like Thomas said, Its mainly the dealers fault. I understand that because I work in a Ford dealer and my boss, the Service Manager is a complete A**hole.

I've seen this website years ago, I've even read some of his posts and stories. I give him the respect of voicing his opinion and probably frustration. Prime example within 4 days this week my window regulator failed and the window stuck for the 2nd time and the check engine light came on for the 4th.

I mean I probaly going to add a shelf in my garage under my cleaning supplies for window clips.

In response to why service managers are assholes? Try being in their position. Your only customers are ones whom come to you if something is wrong. It's not like you go to them to say hi. SM get pissed on and beat up everyday.

Don't feel that I'm taking sides to anyone here. I'm simply trying to bring out the facts and look both ways threw that glass.

Just one other thing you forgot Dave. The SM has to deal with all the Techs and try to keep them happy and the management above him also. They also have to deal with factory reps, Always on the phone.

Wouldn't want that job

to be honest, and this is really only my opinion for what it's worth (and that isn't much) but a lot of VW's have problems, it takes a certain kind of person, who loves vw's to say "hey i love my car i don't care how many times it breaks down" or in my case "i don't care how many qts of oil it spills all over my drive way i'll do whatever it takes to fix it" and really thats with any car that person just happens to not love his vw as much as the rest of us would in his situation

I know I'm instigating here but I think this guy does love his dubS. Yes, dubS. If I remember correctly, I think he owns three of them. I think we all know how it feels to love and to be let down. He is just angry that his particular dub was a lemon.

Although I disagree with his method of dealing with it;
Can you blame him?

And Kim is absolutely right, it takes a certain type of person to do whatever it takes to keep their dub on the road.

agreed. my car gives me troubles sometimes, but I still love it. I would not like the SM's job. high stress, always running around. but there are some VW dealerships that are full of assholes. I choose to take my car to vw specialists to get looked at, and taken care of.

I am a parts manager at a large motorcycle/snowmobile/atv dealership and I have to deal with alot of custumers everyday.I understand how a customer can think I am a prick but I deal with it.Because thats the way poeple treat me.but when a customer can understand the problem and not act like an ass ,I am more than willing to do what ever to help.It is all how you approch the counter.My jetta had to have a new trans put in and with some sweet talking they did it.Even though I have tons of add ons on my car.where vw would not have to even fix it.
