Ok, I have the 8v and when I pull the sparkplug wires the little cap that screws on the top of the spark plug goes with it.

so when the wires pulled off you see the threads on the very top of the spark plug.

WTF

You are talking about the threads on the top of the spark plug right? The little cap might be stripped or just not on tight enough. If it is stripped then I would just buy new spark plugs and be done with it for such a small price to repair.Just mae sure that the small threaded end does not stay in the spark plug boot ok?

you got it, its just the top of the plug, the plug itself stays in the block.

Weird thing is that it happens on all 4 plugs

I'll replace the plugs and wires then

thanks

Factory VW wires don't use the screw on part. It shouldn't be on the plugs nor in your wires. It shouldn't be there at all.

When you replace sparkplugs you remove the screw on ends.

Some aftermarket wires use the screw on part.

The end

took the words right out of my mouth. The plugfs are fine, they're supposed to be that way.
