Hey guys,
I am stranded right now in my 2003 GTI VR6 24V.
I believe it is a fuel issue.
Car has had a little trouble starting recently but no major issues, would just give it a little gas and it would start right up.
Tonight on the way home on the freeway, the car started losing power and kept losing power. I tried downshifting and playing with the gas pedal but it just kept losing power until I pulled off the freeway and it was idling pretty rough until it died. Tried to start it and it would start for a moment but pushing the gas pedal wasn't giving it enough gas to run.
Tried a couple more times and now it won't start at all.
Turns over just fine but no start.
Has new battery and spark should be fine, full tank of gas. I think it is a fuel issue.
I am not hearing the fuel pump when I turn the key to on.
Under the hood there is a faint whine but that's it.
Am stuck right now and can use an help I can get.
Thanks guys
Dana

Flooded? Hmmm. I had to replace an ignition coil about 6 months ago but it just ran really rough (5 cylinders) until I replaced it. Is the ignition pack something else? It has done the "losing power" a few times before....
Driving on the freeway with a steady throttle all of a sudden it would start to slow like I had let off the gas for a few seconds and then go back to going again.
This time it just didn't start going again.
