Hi there!

I have this issue that recently popped up on my 2001 Jetta Wolfsburg. It seems the starter is having an issue turning the car over, making a loud clicking noise when I turn the ignition - is this possibly a battery issue? Have any of you ever come across this? Any help or insight would be much appreciated!

I have a video of whats going on here:

I would guess battery. But get it and maybe even the alternator checked at Autozone, etc. They will do that for free.

Well, I had someone give me a jump and it started. The problem came when I parked it again after driving it around to let the alternator have its run on it. It was dead not even 2-3 hours later.

Thinking it's a dead battery. Either that or something internally is leeching battery energy. I made sure all the lights and electronics were off in the interior of the car.

My 2001 vr6 did the same thing. I pulled the alternator and had it tested. turned out it was a bad cell in the battery. I would check the battery.
