Hello, my husband and my 2000 VW beetle 2.0Lgls is having some issues with the brake lights. As my husband was backing into our driveway today I noticed only one side of the brake lights were working as well as the 3rd light. So we shut the car down and restarted a few minutes later and both side brake lights were out but 3rd light is working. So I ask my husband to turn on the running lights and all lights come on.
My neighbor said it's most likely a brake light switch being faulty.
If the bulbs are working when the running lights are on its the the bulb .. correct.
I am just about to just replace the brake light switch because I have already replaced 2 in the past year. What is your opinion
