Could be one of a few things:

1) Check to make sure there is nothing causing it to jump/stop off track. Like a stone or even a peice of metal.

2) Make sure the track is well lubricated.

3) It may be off track or you need a new track all together. Check those first 2 steps...most likey you will need to go to a dealer/garage to have them check it out.

Ahhhh yes the love of the sunroof's

I got a 1994 VW Golf with a sunroof. The sunroof will tilt up and tilt back down, but when I slide it back to fully open it, I can't get it closed...I was told it is off track. Do I need a new track?

I have a 93 Jetta and when i go to slide my sunroof back it takes some effort before it starts to slide... i suggest you try to push it back as you are pushing the button.... hopefully that will do it... its a safe bet that you only need to lubricate it...

No dude...I can open it...It's all I can do to close it...like somehing is caught or wedged. Last time I had it opened, I used the crank to close it...and barely got it closed
