we have a 1999 jetta 4cyl auto, replaced the cat, insides loose, and both 02 sensors, after had poor run and random multiple misfire codes, thought we must have disturbed the wires or? did see discoloration on wires, replaced and ok.
chkd the readiness codes and the oxygen sensor and cat conv were both 1
when going thru o2s aging (01-08-034)using vag 1552 can not get the test to start ( cat temp above 352, rpm 2800-3200) field 4 still stayed test off. (also tried with rpm 1800-2200)
same applies in 01-08-046
in 01-08-030 operating condition of o2 sensor field 2 is 110 which is why i think i can not get the test to start
this is a new sensor, did i get a bum one or am i missing something?
any help is appreciated, please email me if you have any advice

thanks

The first thing that you should do is
1- Check the compression
2- Do a leak down test
* The Factory had problems with the rings on the piston, on those years cars. If you need any other info feel free to give me a call @ 516-616-5812
