Hi,

I know you can negotiate the sale price when leasing a vehicle. I'm working of off the dealer website calculator. My confusion resides on the Selling price (which is showing when you trying to calculate the purchase) vs when you try to calculate the Lease where the selling price is replaced with Capitalized Cost. This Cap Cost shows higher than the selling price. Should the lease be based off the agreed price OR that Cap Cost is based on the selling price?

I.e: their selling price for that jetta is 16.7K but when selecting lease option it shows as cap cost of 19.5. I want to make sure that I'm not being ripped so I thought I'll ask for the advice.

I'm guessing the best plan would be to go and get the lease quote based on the selling price agreed. Additionally, the website is not showing money factor which could also be negotiated right?

Anyway, thank you in advance for any advice.

Dealer Calculator is here. you can see two tabs. One for finance and one for lease. On the left, you'll see selling price changing to cap cost.
