Timing belt help

280 Views 2 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  StillOnBoard
I have a VW Jetta 2014 2.0 single cam. My camshaft position sensor was going out so I replaced it and when putting everything back together I accidentally jumped a tooth without knowing. I started it and got code P0016 which is (CMP for bank 1, which detects camshaft rotation, is not corresponding to the crankshaft position sensor (CKP) signal). I tore everything apart again and took the belt off and re timed it. But I am still getting that code. Not sure what to do now. Engine sounds fine just takes a little to start.

Thank you

Did you use a scan tool to clear the code after your repair? If not you may have to.

Yes after I completed the job I cleared the code and started the car up and the code popped up again
