My golf mk4 won't start but cranks .

No sound from the fuel pump when key is turned or door is opened.

No voltage is reaching the fuse.

Managed to start the car by sending 12v directly to the pump

So the problem seems to be with whatever controls the voltage to the fuse.

Thought the problem initially was the relay but a new one never fixed the issue. (£58 )

Could it be the ecu?????

Been pulling my hair out. Need it going desperately .

Please please help
Regards

same issue

My wife's 2005 does the same thing. Did you figure this out? The voltage to the pump is on for about a second and then stops. New pump, new relay. Haven't replaced the filter (which I need to do anyhow).
