I just bought a 1995 5 speed Jetta GL.

I like the car and all but.... the thing is slower then my go kart.

What are some quick and easy things to do to this car to make it faster?

It's all stock and i'm looking to make it faster but don't really know where I should start. Does anyone have any modded MK3s on here? If so, what have you dont to it engine wise?

I was also wondering what is the best type of exhaust for these? I've never owned a VW before and haven't really herd much about the exhausts that are good for them.

start with a intake and a 2.25'' cat back exhaust. Then do a chip. That gives it some more pep. If your feeling frisky go for a mild cam.

So 2.5 would he to much then? I saw a really nice exhaust on autotech that was 2.5 with magnaflow muffler but I guess I'll look into other exhausts if 2.5 is too big. Also autotech has heads for mk3's that are pre ported and come rebuilt with cams and everything so if you wanna do a cam you might want to look into that also.

No 2.5's not too much but thats usually what the vr6's run. I find the 2.25'' sounds better on 2L
