Hey guys, I think i have finally decided on wheels for my car. I have a 2000 gti 1.8T and I was wondering if you guys could help me pick the best fitment of these wheels

which would be the best offset option and how can I ensure the least amount of rub/ and or damage to the car.
as well as what size rubber should I wrap them in.

Thanks guys

I would do the 18x8 F 18x9 R +35 offset. What kind of fitment are you looking for? Stretch tires and flush with fenders, hellaflush, near fenders with proper tire size?

looking for proper fitment, don't know much about tire stretching.

What would you recommend though? I'm not adverse towards anything. I plan on lowering about an inch or so on raceland coils as I am a college student on a budget

225/40 all the way around then, and possibly 5-10mm spacer in the back depending on fitment is what I would do with a budget and racelands.

No prob. You may need to roll the front fenders. And don't baseball bat it. Most performance shots do them now and it's fairly cheap.

should I still get the 18x9.0 in the rear with the 225/40 tires?

I got 225-45-r17 with about a 3 inch drop in front and 2 3/4 back with 8mm front spacer and 16mm rear spacer.

Rears won't have a problem fitting 18x9 with 225/40 tires. I did a 18x9.5 with 225/40 and a little lower offset and it fit just fine. Fronts might be a bit tight. if you don't really want to worry about it you could always get 215/40 and that should be good enough clearance to not roll fenders.

215/40s all around.

18x8 18x9
5x100
35mm offset
no spacers at first.. maybe later in the rear if needed to achieve stance.

moar low on coils.

Done deal.

im rolling on 18x8 18x9..
205/40r18 front
215/40r18 rear

plenty o pics in my timeline thread.

yes im on air.. now.. but i was static.. rolling with the same set up. and 99% of that tire rub u see in the pics.. is not from me.. its from previous owner rolling aired out all the time.. fyi.. so dont panic about that.
