Hi All,
Recently one of my keys for my 2012 Jetta SE broke. There was a small fracture in the metal knuckle that holds the key blade, which meant the pin that holds the blade in wasn’t holding the key in place anymore.
So I bought a replacement key fob, and moved the transmitter from my old key fob into the new key fob, moved the blade into the new net fob and reassembled the key fob. I put the battery in and was able to unlock and lock my car, so I thought I was good to go. But when I get in the car and turn the key, the engine starts up and then immediately shuts off with a No Key error on the dashboard. I’ve tried about 4 different reprogramming guides I’ve found on the web, but none of them work as described. Also, my fob unlocks and locks the car so I think the reprogramming guides are for when that doesn’t work. Anyone have any idea what I can do? Did I somehow miss a part from the old key that I need?
Thanks!
